Zion Williamson

February 24, 2018

Zion Williamson’s impact for the NCAA, Duke and potential for the NBA at this moment and with the right right work ethic could bring the next all time great and jaw dropping phenomenon the NBA and it’s fans especially are always looking for. The 6’8 270lb yes I said 270lb senior averaged 31.8 ppg, 2.9 assists, 11.3 rebounds, 3.0 steals, and 2.9 blocks per game over his 93 games played since entering high school at the Spartanburg Day Griffins in South Carolina (on varsity all 4 years). A couple crazy fun facts about Zion’s physical size, he grew from 5’9 to 6’3 between 8th grade and freshmen year of high school let that sink in.... oh not to mention the 46 inch vertical he also has. Everything previously listed are only the stats you see on paper, the guy has been all over social media posterizing and rejecting shots into the upper decks of games for a couple years now. On January 20th, 2018 Zion (#2 ranked recruit) declared his decision to join R.J. Barrett & Cameron Reddish (#1 and #3 recruits in the nation) and start his NCAA journey with the Duke Blue Devils. Zion has not developed a high percentage three shooting at only 25% through high school, but like most highly regarded forwards entering the NCAA and even the NBA, if a player is willing to put the extra work in adding to his repertoire in practice and most importantly the off-season, then like there is no ceiling for this young man. With an even more physically gifted physique then current NBA start Lebron James this man can on offense: own the paint, soar above the rim, grab offensive rebounds, and on defense: defend positions 1-5, strip offensive players, meet them at the rim, and grab countless defensive rebounds as no one will be able to get around this guys box out especially at the NCAA level. Excited for this mans future and hope he is knows there is a lot of hard grueling early mornings and late nights ahead of him, BUT if he is willing to, Zion can climb to the pedestals of other legendary players like MJ, Kobe, Bird, Shaq, Magic, and company. Cannot wait to see Dukes first regular season game Zion steps onto.
